Originally from Chicago, Stephanie began writing plays while working for the Tony Award winning producing organization Fox Theatricals. She left Chicago to pursue her Masters in Professional Writing from USC and since graduating has found success in Los Angeles with productions of her plays-How to Feel Safe in the Suburbs, Three Fittings and Dreaming in Castellano ("Delightfully infectious"- Backstage West) and in New York with a production of her short play The Dress in the 12th Annual American Globe and Turnip Theatre Company's 15-Minute Play Festival and The Big Ride in the 14th Annual festival. Three of hercar plays, Hollywood Hills ("Hilariously dark" -LA Weekly) Back Roads and It's Not About the Car were produced as part of Los Angeles' Moving Arts Theatre Company's smash hit production: The Car Plays. Back Roads made its East Coast premiere in ArtsCenter's Ten By Ten in the Triangle festival in Carrboro, North Carolina and was also turned into a short film that premiered at the Women's International Film Festival on March 31, 2008 in Miami while Hollywood Hills has been selected for publication in the Smith & Kraus anthology: Best Ten-Minute Plays 2008: 2 Actors. Stephanie was an artist-in-residence at The Kennedy Center as part of the Summer Playwriting Intensive in 2007, is a playwright-in-residence at Moving Arts in Los Angeles, a proud member of the Alliance of Los Angeles Playwrights, the International Center for Women's Playwrights the Lizard Claw Playwrights and the Dramatists Guild of America. She resides in the Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles with her husband Bob and adorable Pug dog, Pablo.
