Synopsis: | This contemporary adaptation of the classic story "Der Sandmann" by E.T.A. Hoffmann follows the strange experiences of Nate, a tortured young man who witnessed what he believes was the mythic Sandman maim and kill his father. Years later, everything seems to be working out for Nate: he is engaged to a wonderful girl, has a great roommate at college, and feels as if he has finally been cured of the insanity that plagued his youth. That is, until he is approached by a curious man who sells him a pair of binoculars that, when focused on the Professor's peculiar daughter, cause Nate to fall in love with her. | |||||
