Notes:

Original Playwright - Henrik Ibsen

Synopsis:

Faithful to Ibsen's original setting, this new version of A Doll's House takes place in the centre of Norway's capital on Christmas Eve, 1879. Nora, an excitable young housewife, makes her last minute preparations under the Christmas tree. This towering symbol of Christianity is the perfect find; and a resplendent finishing touch to Nora's idyllic picture of family life. Nora knows full well however, that the tree is diseased, and it casts a macabre shadow over the household as the needles slowly drop. . .As with many of Nora's well-meant but not entirely lawful machinations, the truth begins to creep into her husband's narrow field of vision. Frantically she attempts to clean up, but becomes lost in an onslaught of blackmail and pine needles. The one thing that her husband cannot stand begins to unfold; a huge and insoluble mess.
