Synopsis: | It's panto time at The Theatre Royal. Join the staff behind the scenes as they run the nerve centre of the biggest show of the year. A host of colourful characters keep the wheels in motion; on the front line is Miriam who has worked as an usherette for 29 years, but the tangled love life of teenage usherette, Trudy, leaves you wondering how they ever manage to sell any ice creams. Pam, the 'knitting-addicted' stage door keeper knows it all about the stars appearing at the theatre - and if Joe Public want access to the cast then they have to get passed her and her knitting first. Including nutty fan Kerry-Ann ("don't look her in the eye"), who waits patiently every day for autographs. Running this roller coaster is long suffering stage manager Kate, who is forced to put up with the constant off-stage moans and ludicrous requests from the cast, notably the star of the show. And finally, the top of the bill, the star of the show herself, the one, the only, TV sitcom legend Suzi Monroe. Who was famous once. For a while. And is now unable to remember any lines. As well as the laughs this backstage tour overflows with pathos and tenderness | |||||
