Synopsis: | What if Joe Orton had met Terrence Rattigan? Terrence Rattigan is trying to remember his lover Kenneth. He lives in a flat that is haunted by Oscar Wilde whom he can see and have conversations with. Rattigan has seen Joe Orton's play "Entertaining Mr Sloane" and writes to him expressing his admiration. He 'phones down to the porter and tells him that there is a letter to post. The porter 'phones back to say that there is a delivery boy with flowers and he insists that Rattigan sign for them. He is sent up. It is Joe Orton dressed as a bell-boy and with a bouquet that he has stolen from Margaret Ramsey his agent. Orton quickly divests himself of his uniform and sets about seducing Rattigan. At first Joe cannot see or hear Oscar but when he does he finds he dislikes Oscar and is unpleasant to him. Joe and Terrence talk about their plays and the fact that both of them had or have troublesome lovers called Kenneth. Joe finally gets Terrence into the bedroom. Next morning Oscar goes out for a walk. Joe prepares to leave making it plain that this was a one off. He takes the flowers to go back to Margaret Ramsey and wonders what sort of reception he will get from Kenneth. Oscar arrives back from his walk and has the newspaper that the porter had delivered. He shows Terrence the report of Joe's murder. Then the porter 'phones up to say he is coming for the letter that needed posting. Rattigan sees that it is still there and cannot understand what has happened. The door bell rings - Joe has come back - though dressed in a tea-shirt and jeans now. Oscar asks if he might kiss him - the kiss is passionate and they both exit into the bedroom leaving Rattigan alone and upset a recalling his Kenneth | |||||
