| An Under Construction showing presented by Nomenclature Theatre and The Drill Hall. When you look backwards on your life can you see a clearer path through a difficult time or hear the perfect retort to win an argument? Is there any value in looking backwards? I have surrounded myself with stories of people looking back on their lives at pivotal moments, in the hope that, by watching others look backwards I may spend less time looking over my own shoulder. A Personal History (or the beauty of hindsight) is an idiosyncratic selection of stories about gay men and lesbian women some real and some imagined. By no means is this a definitive history; it's personal to the last. A performance about plotting your own route through history, A Personal History (or the beauty of hindsight) is an exploration of inter-generational links within the gay community and whether stories of the past are an important part of our present. This is a work-in-progress showing, developed from interviews conducted with gay people about their lives and their politics. Memories of protests, snippets of relationships - past and present | |||||
