Julie Salverson has worked as a playwright and community animator since the early 1980's. In 2002 she was a member of Tapestry New Opera Work's Lib/Lab, and in May 2003 wrote the libretto (with composer Juliet Palmer) for Over The Japanese Sea, a work in progress which opened Tapestry/Nightwood Theatre's new studio in Toronto's Distillery District. She has written a number of essays on witnessing and the theatre, and is Assistant Professor of Drama at Queen's University, Kingston.
