Rush's plays have been produced by such theaters as Stage Left, Chicago Dramatists, Mark Taper Forum, GeVa, Manhatten Theater Club, and others. His awards include Chicago Jeff Awards, a Los Angeles DramaLogue Award, Emmies, and others. His plays have been read and/or workshopped at Utah Shakespeare, Orlando Shakespeare, Odyssey Theater, Inge Center, Abindgon Theater, etc. He has won and/or was a finalist in several national contests. He has published two textbooks: A STUDENT GUIDE TO PLAY ANALYSIS and BUILDING YOUR PLAY (the latter coming in July 2010). He has been awarded several playwriting grants and has been a writer in residence at the Inge Center.
