Biography of Kate Rothschild

Kate is a Writer/Director/Producer with over 17 years of experience in theatre, television, film, digital media, game design, marketing and advertising. She wrote, directed and produced the political comedy, Operation Knockout, which was featured in the 2003 New York Fringe Festival. Her comedy troupe, Fasten Your Seatbelts, had a series of sold-out shows featuring her provocative short plays and sketches. Her work has been called "a comedic ride through the absurdity of modern times that skewers everyone" and "dead on" and is featured in the book Hit the Nerve: New Voices of the American Theater. She developed one of her plays Pepe & Pierre into a short film and has also written, directed and performed with a number of comedy groups. As a Senior Producer at Nickelodeon, she developed successful internet, television, mobile, CD-Rom and DVD convergent content. She created the highly popular Wildlife Rescue simulation game series and launched Toondirector, the first interactive cartoon series on Nick.com. Kate was the Animation Producer for the TV show, Romeo, and produced convergent TV and online content for Nickelodeon News and Let's Just Play, the anti-obesity campaign. Her first job out of university was for the TV news magazine show, PrimeTime Live, where she worked on segment production and assisted with Gulf War coverage. Her advertising experience includes producing commercials at ABCE and working on a wide range of accounts at Grey Advertising. She is the Creative Leader of artistsAWAKEproductions and is currently developing a number of cross-platform projects, consulting and lecturing about the creative opportunities offered by the new media world.
