Synopsis: | Eric, a scientist, has worked hard to develop a substance to destroy the harmful insect in the world. He has also discovered that his poison kills helpful insects and that the harmful insects have developed strains too strong for his science. In his work, he has neglected Erna, his wife, who merely wants to live comfortably and be loved. As Eric confronts his failures, he also wants more and more to live and be loved, but he discovers that his neglect has so hardened Erna that she cannot give him the love he wants.
