American Leslie Hill and Brit Helen Paris make up Curious. Working in different ways and using a variety of media, the common ground in all their work is a gentle but intelligent curiosity about modern life and its dilemmas. Sometimes working within communities to develop pieces based on the experiences of others, sometimes focusing on their own personal lives, the two frequently use their contrasting transatlantic experiences as subject matter for their performances. These are intimate, often humorous affairs, frequently in unusual spaces, sprinkled with music and film and occasionally lubricated with cocktails.

Synopsis: | (be)longing highlights their talents as thoroughly engaging performers with an ability to create a sense of intimacy and empathy in their audience. Comprising two individual tales and two different moods, it is a show about yearning for one's place in the world. This is not work that shouts from the rooftops about global issues, but a small, quirky, piece with a very human connection to the audience. | |||||
