Synopsis: | Frank Slivers Oakley was a leading clown and the highest paid one in 1916 earning $1,000 a week. He worked solo. The owners of Ringling's Three Ring Circus thought that he was slowing proceedings down so they hired fifty other clowns to go into his act - and also cut his pay to $50 a week. Oakley committed suicide | |||||
