Synopsis:

Widely advertised as a Gaelic response to Eve Ensler's Vagina Monologues, There's No 'V' In Gaelic is a slightly hesitant, uneven show, featuring three fine professional performers - Cathy Ann MacPhee, Margaret Bennett and Kathleen MacInnes - as audience members watching nine short scenes from women's lives written and performed by young members of An Lochran's theatre group. Performed almost entirely in Gaelic, Guy Hollands's production - with linking scenes written by Seonag Monk - makes few obvious concessions to non-Gaelic-speaking audiences.
Jovce McMillan, Scotsman
