| Synopsis: | The priest Eric Painter goes to local archivist Lois Manchen to ask her to uncover a mystery. His church has been demolished and the bones of a baby discovered. Before the church was built an hotel had stood on the site. Back in the 1920s it was a haunt of prostitutes and all kinds of ne'er do wells. Lois discovers an old paperback on her coffee table and reading it she is alarmed to find it is the story of the burning down of the hotel and the discovery of the remains of the baby. Even more alarming the book goes on to describe her meeting with the priest. | |||||
