Oliver Mayer is the author of over twenty plays."The Hurt Business: a Critical Portfolio of the Early Works of Oliver Mayer, Plus," is published by Hyperbole Books; "Oliver Mayer: Collected Plays" is published by NoPassport Press. He wrote the libretto for the opera AMERICA TROPICAL, composed by David Conte. Oliver is Associate Professor of Dramatic Writing at the USC School of Theatre. He is the winner of a USC Zumberge Individual Award for a new six-play thematic cycle, and a USC Mellon Mentoring Award for Excellence in Faculty Mentoring of Undergraduates. He is currently working on a film about the life of Latino icon Adan Sanchez, and has begun a novel based on his play BLADE TO THE HEAT.
