Synopsis: | Ben is a good-looking university student who one day goes into a pub in a very rough area of the city. Here he meets Brian the landlord and the captain of the pub dart team. After showing his talents on the dartboard he is accepted into the pub team and meets its weird and wonderful characters. Amongst these is Tony, a dodgy gear seller and boyfriend to Lisa the beautiful bar maid. Lisa doesn't belong behind an inner city bar; Ben's intelligence and charm are welcome nourishment. Over the darts' season their friendship grows into love. Meanwhile Ged Kelly, the son of a big time gangster on the rough estate where the pub is located, aims to make sure that the team doesn't win the league by threatening Tony. Tony's team are the favourites and Ged's father, a bookmaker, doesn't want them to win. As the play unfolds we become aware of the power of love not only to do good but also as an uncontrollable, destructive force. In the end, however, they are all saved by it and in a very unexpected way. | |||||
