Patricia Lamkin discovered her love of playwriting in the '90s working as an actor for the Philadelphia Zoo Treehouse Troupe, where she wrote or helped develop a dozen environmental education plays for children, including her original play, It's a Scavenger's Life and Witling, a play adaptation of the Queen Bee by the Brothers Grimm. Commissioned museum works followed: Bat Tales for the Franklin Institute, as well as All the World's a Stage and Haym Solomon: A Remarkable Man for Historic Philadelphia, Inc. Patricia was a member of the Brick Playhouse in Philadelphia from 1996-2002, where she premiered several short plays, including The Trestle, Teasing, Tarzan and Jane Share Their Erotic Jungle Fantasies, and the one act, Last Wishes, which won the Brick's prestigious Best of IT award. Patricia now resides in Los Angeles and is a member of the Alliance of Los Angeles Playwrights (ALAP) and Rewrights playwriting group. Her full-length play Balancing the Moon enjoyed a reading via ALAPS's New Works lab, and the Rogue Machine Theatre. Patricia was most recently seen performing in her real-life satire, Angel City, at the Next Stage Theatre. Currently she is writing a rock musical tentatively called The Road Movie. She holds a B.A. in Theatre from Millsaps College, in Jackson, MS, and an M.F.A. in Acting from the University of Southern Mississippi.
