Callie Kimball is a writer, actor, director, and teaching artist. Honors she has received for her work include a MacDowell Fellowship, a grant from the Ludwig Vogelstein Foundation, and the Academy of American Poets Prize. Her play SAFEWORD was a semifinalist at the O'Neill Festival, and her poem "Cocteau in Gold" was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. She has received play commissions from Washington Shakespeare Company, Phoenix Theatre, and The In Series. As an actor, director, movement consultant, and teaching artist, she has worked at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts, Washington Shakespeare Company, Cherry Red Productions, the DC Fringe Festival, Theater J, Maryland Shakespeare Festival, and The Shakespeare Theatre Company. She founded and ran DC Dollies & The Rocket Bitch Revue from '06 to '07--they produced plays, held readings, and raised $4,000 for the DC Rape Crisis Center by producing Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues. Kimball is an Actors' Equity Association Membership Candidate, a member of Screen Actors Guild, and a Regional Representative of Dramatists Guild.
