Synopsis: | The Mercer family take up their usual position at the beach. When the Adamsons arrive, the differences between the two families become apparent as do the conflicts within each of them. Tensions and temperaments reach breaking point, and as they leave the beach, Jack makes the symbolic gesture of abandoning all the beach equipment, in the hope that another family will find it and be as happy as they were, beside the sea. | |||||
