Synopsis: | A big, adventurous retelling of the story of Abraham's family, particularly the memorable and mysterious woman to whom the Bible gives only one sentence. It is a two-part play-The Husband and The Wife-which holds some of our most traditional notions under the light and heat of a modern consciousness. A woman searches for beauty and meaning in a world where men and Gods contend for raw power.

Synopsis: | The last day in the life of a neighborhood folk hero in New York Ci-ty's "Little Italy." Charlie, now sixty years old, a widower stricken with cancer of which he is sup-posed to know nothing, must decide between surrendering to a slow painful death or committing an act of vengeance which will bring about a swift and deadly reprisal. In killing his archenemy, John Black, Charlie takes charge of his fate, frees his young nephew, Robert, from the web of the mob's feudal world, and achieves for himself a humor and a dignity he was unable to find in any of his memories. The play is set against the background of the San Gennaro street festival. Its humor, color, and exuberance lend emphasis to the story of "Charlie Pops."

Synopsis: | Two related plays set in a small house in Irish Catholic Brooklyn. Each tells the story of an old person and a young person caught at a moment when life must change and the in-evitability of death or adulthood must be accepted. The first play speaks from the feminine point of view, the second from the masculine. The emphasis is on comedy as Aggie Reilly celebrates her seventy-eighth Good Friday with a bottle of Irish whiskey, and a father and son stage their own version of the Dempsey-Sharkey prize fight. In each play youth and age help each other to ac-complish one of life's necessary changes.
