| Synopsis: | The setting is a remote Argentinian bordello owned by a blind old Madam dreaming of being reunited with a long-lost lover In Venice. Around her lounge three bickering hookers In gaudy cleavage-thrusting rags: Marta the sour old sow, Graciela the lippy new girl and Rita the industrious peacemaker. The only man who ever shows up is the bovine Chato -tumescent with pride after recently acquiring an "electronic organ" (all jokes apply). The story could easily focus on any of these characters, but turns instead on just one: the blind Madam and bow the impoverished girls can get her to Venice. Patrick Marmion, Evening Standard | |||||
