Glenys Evans trained at Central School of Speech and Drama and Goldsmiths College, London . She has worked in theatre, drama and education since 1976. She specialises in writing plays that reflect her understanding of the lives of people with learning disabilities and their close and distant community. She is closely associated with two theatre companies, Hijinx Theatre and Theatr Iolo as an actress, devisor of original ensemble plays, director and commissioned playwright. She is also an experienced teacher and educationalist who has worked extensively with young people of all ages and the adult learning disabled community. She has worked as a lecturer in F.E at Barry College, The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and University of Glamorgan. Reflecting on her work she now understands why she has not much money but very rich memories. Glenys is married to Richard Berry the actor and storyteller and has two sons who should know better. Her dramaturge is John Charana Evans.

Synopsis: | This play highlights a few of those obstacles and is all about inclusion and choices. Based on some of Glenys' experiences, Chasing Rainbows is the story of Hayley chosen as the face of inclusion who is off to London to read her poem at a big conference. On her journey (on the 125 to Paddington), Hayley meets a pompous politician, loses her support worker and makes a new friend in the figure of Kit, a homeless street musician. A rollercoaster journey ensues as we see Hayley finding herself included' with somebody who is more excluded that she has ever been.
