Regarding the Welsh playwright E. Eynon Evans,I am reminded of a talk he gave to the sixth form of Caerphilly Grammar School. This took place in the early fifties and I well remember his confessing that as a young boy he had been cursed with a marked stutter. He told us that he had eventually cured himself of this by placing a small number of pebbles in his mouth when trying to speak.Upon removing them, the effort to speak was so much easier that he eventually was able to converse with few problems. He was an invigorating raconteur and made a lasting impression upon a developing mind.Incidentally, his son,Keith, was also in that Sixth Form(hence the invitation to visit!)
