Synopsis: | Set in south-west Queensland during the late sixties, this delightful play tells the story of two very different women, who become friends through their passionate love of American country music. From this unlikely premise comes a wonderfully bittersweet comedy with a script to rival some of the greatest landmark Australian movies of the last 20 years. While Dean deals with the friendship of the two protagonists, he doesn't shy away from greater issues affecting them like the political effects of American globalisation and the Vietnam war. - The Stage | |||||
