David has extensive writing credits for theatre, radio, and television, with his most recent series for Citv - UNCLE DAD - winning a Lloyds TSB BAFTA Award for Best Children's Television. With over 40 episodes broadcast in the UK and in international markets, other television series include BUTTERFINGERS (Citv), WOOLAMALOO (Channel 5), THE ICECREAM MACHINE (Channel 5), LAUGH OUT LOUD (Nickelodeon) and FBi (BBC Scotland). On radio, the sitcom KING OF THE ROAD ran for two series on Radio 2, and David has had several thousand minutes of sketch comedy broadcast on BBC Radio. His adaptation of the novel GEORDIE for SYT Productions had its world premiere in New York in April 2006 and was then showcased at the Festival Theatre, Edinburgh. A new production completed a successful Scottish tour in 2008, and a further production is planned for Toronto in 2011. WHEN A STAR FALLS, his third successful collaboration with SYT Productions, toured Scotland in 2007 and also appeared in New York in April 2008 as part of the Scotland Week celebrations. He is now an Associate Artist with Scottish Youth Theatre and in addition to his writing commissions for the company has also devised and led writing workshops, including the Young Playwrights Course, 2009 Other awards include: a Guinness Pub Theatre Award for THE WOODTURNER (Peninsula Theatre & Mull Theatre), Promax UK Gold and Silver awards for an enormously successful BBC promotions campaign, and an Edinburgh Evening News National Production Award for the musical THREE STEPS TO HEAVEN. The world premiere of a new musical based on the lives of BONNIE AND CLYDE is scheduled for Germany in 2011. His current commissions include a new play commissioned by West End Producer, Arden Entertainment. For the BBC, he has been a script reader, comedy consultant, stand-up judge, and writing tutor. Other corporate clients have included Scottish Media Group, Diageo, British Airways, British Telecom, and Scottish Enterprise. He has been a guest lecturer at Baruch College, City University New York and, in 2008 was made a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
