Born in Missouri; he was raised, schooled and worked in Kansas most of his life. He has been writing plays since 1968. His original play: "THE TRUTH ABOUT CHANCE" was performed at KSU's Purple Masque Theatre in March, 1971. "EL CUMPLEAŅOS" (The Birthday"), a one-act, was also completed during his undergraduate years at Kansas State University. His first full-length play "THE PRICE OF THEIR TOYS" was completed in 1984 and is an ongoing re-write under a new title. Further studies in Playwriting at Wichita State University after the turn of the century resulted in two completed full-length plays: "CHAR IN A BARREL" and "CONFESSIONS OF A LAS VEGAS COCKTAIL WAITRESS". Robert Cory's debut collection of poetry, WATCH US KISS, was published January, 2012.

Synopsis: | HANNAH O'CONNOR shows up unannounced at her husband's office at 10 o'clock on a Thursday morning. She's drawn there by a crisis pending on the 16th floor of the resort hotel in which DARREN O'CONNOR'S office is located. Raphaella Sortiz, a stunning 17-year old, former part-time hotel housekeeper, is perched on a ledge threatening to take her own life. She's pregnant. The media has turned the situation into a cause celebre. HANNAH incidentally uncovers circumstantial evidence that leads her to strongly suspect her husband may be more to Raphaella than just her former employer. HANNAH, an attorney by trade, utilizes her intuition, intellect and professional skills to badger, question and manipulate DARREN into telling the truth. The verbal sparring leads them to reveal the state of their own relationship. Both their individual and common expectations are not being met. The most polarizing issue: sex. Each has created a separate world in which to live, work and play. As HANNAH'S accusatory full-court press heightens so does DARREN'S resolve. Presented with the given set of circumstances, can this intellectually matched couple have its cake and eat it too?

Synopsis: | When the family ties that bind snap, a reformation takes place. Is home where you find it? Or, does it find you, perhaps by default, forming purely out of need? The Krueger family is disintegrating. Dysfunction rules. Dad's seeing another woman; MRS. KRUEGER is a backsliding, sober again binge drinker; and JIMMY just enlisted in the Marine Corps. The torch is being passed to the oldest sibling, PAULA, whether she knows it or not. Not only must PAULA deal with the fragmentation of her family but her recently adopted lifestyle as well. She's taken up with the revered family babysitter from her childhood days, BEVERLY, who's only recently returned from Las Vegas. BEV and PAULA are in love and mutually supportive of one another. They've unwittingly formed the nucleus of a replacement home that evolves as the play progresses. Three characters that bonded as children and early adolescents will have come full circle, "come home". Thesis. Antithesis. Synthesis. Seasoned with allegory and the hint of a fairy tale, CONFESSIONS blends comedy and drama with the smithereens of socially constructed expectations. "Real life puzzles don't always turn out like the picture on the box."
