Kelsie Chance (playwright) hails from a small town called Many in the swamp-famed state of Louisiana. He studied opera theatre at Northwestern State University, where he soon discovered Anton Chekhov and Tennessee Williams. A scholar of The King James version of The Holy Bible, he has been nationally recognized as a Bible trivia champion and theologian since age 15. As a conductor, he has conducted Brahms' Eine Deutsche Requiem in both San Francisco and Chicago. Mr. Chance is a graduate of The National Shakespeare Conservatory and has studied with Stella Adler. His first play, Swamp Redemption, was included in The Script-in Hand Series at The New Jersey Repertory Company, which also graciously included a scene from his play, Chekhov's Mistress, in the innovative Theatre Brut Festival. He is a student of Dutch and Flemish and has lived in Belgium for two years to research his novel, Kortrijk. He died on 1st September 2008
