Synopsis:

Five well-known actresses arrive at a remote mansion in the English countryside to attend a weekend workshop with Maxwell de Santorra, a mysterious, reclusive movie producer. Each of them are desperate to win the role that promises to resurrect even the most flagging of careers and propel one lucky actress to super-stardom. But, the elusive producer is nowhere to be found and the mansion is inhabited by only an ageing butler and a religiously devout housekeeper. Things take a sinister turn when a black-clad figure is spotted roaming the grounds. Soon, two in the house will be dead and the remaining occupants will have to put aside professional rivalry and their suspicion and paranoia of one another if they are to survive their ordeal, and discover who has brought them together and the reason why. Dying for Fame is a taut psychological thriller, with elements of high camp and comedy, that contains a combustive mix of characters and explores the fascinating cult of celebrity; the fickleness of fame, the contradictions between the fear of being stalked and the desire for notoriety, and using and being used by the media.
