Synopsis: | The Witchin' Well is a modern fairytale that tells the story of Sean and his sister Anne, who find themselves in the underworld where they encounter Nellie the witch, a strange creature called Skitter, a wise fish Shareel, Amadan the giant and rapping forest fairies. Anne is constantly mean to Sean and when they discover a well in the woods Sean wishes that he didn't have a sister, despite warnings from Anne that the well was cursed. The next morning Sean wakes to the distant screams of Anne. When he looks under his bed, thinking that the sound is coming from there, he is sucked under into the underworld where Anne is the witch's captive. The only way to free her is to confront Amadan and bring back some Ongar berries to trick the witch. Nellie believes the berries will make her even more powerful but in fact they kill her. Sean manages to enlist the help of the witch's assistant Skitter but questions his loyalty as they journey through the woods to find Amadan. On the way he has to outsmart the forest fairies, overcome his fear of heights and persuade the giant Amadan to give him the berries. | |||||
