Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Randy (and everyone else) knew of his theatrical and musical talents from a very early age. His first show was a one act festival play called DUST OF OUR DREAMS which was produced in 1981 by UNICORN THEATRE PLAYERS in St. Louis. Other festival plays followed until 1988 when he began work on a one act comedy sketch in which an Esther Williams spars with a Judy Garland. There was something in that he liked and continued to work on it until he had ONEPIECE - A SPLASHY MUSICAL PLAY. Workshopped at the BLUE MOON COFFEE HOUSE in St. Louis, ONEPIECE enjoyed its world premiere as a two-act musical produced by UNICORN THEATRE PLAYERS. Randy moved to New Orleans, Louisiana where he works as one of the city's most sought-after tour guides. ONEPIECE enjoyed its New Orleans premiere in November, 2008 at the Marigny Theatre.

Synopsis: | A small girl named Alycia enjoys adventures with her best friend, a unicorn named Nimbus, until a sour-faced school master fills her mother's head with visions of Alycia becoming unable to distinguish fantasy from reality. The mother, herself, reaches back for a vague, dim memory of a unicorn in her own childhood until her adulthood takes hold of her. She shakes off the dusty old dream and discourages Alycia from imaginary adventures. As she grows older Nimbus gradually fades from her sight until she can no longer see him. She wonders if she ever knew him at all. She grows up, has a daughter named Celeste and as she shares the memory of Nimbus with Celeste the unicorn begins to appear to the new child, who continues where her mother left off. | |||||
