Gaby Alter is a composer and lyricist based in Brooklyn. He has won the 2008 Jonathan Larson Award, the 1998 San Francisco Theatre Critics' Circle Award and the 2004 New York Fringe Festival Songwriting Award. He co-wrote the musicals "Twenty-Nine" and "Young Zombies In Love", and is currently developing "Band Geeks" with Tommy Newman and Mark Allen at Goodspeed Musicals, and "Reality!" with playwright Itamar Moses. His shows have been produced in San Francisco, New York and Alabama. Gaby has written songs for PBS TV's Preschool Kids' Block, public radio, and Nerdcore Rising. a documentary in which he stars. He holds an MFA in musical theatre writing from NYU, and is a member of the Dramatists' Guild and ASCAP.
