Synopsis: | The melting clock on the wall has just struck 19:36AD. The poet Federico Garcia Lorca is dead and gone. Belt Up Theatre present a world where anything goes; a world trapped in limbo between two world wars; a world where social norms have become defunct; a world that gave birth to the Surrealists. Its Paris, 19-something or something (time is a construct anyway) and the world famous group of Surrealists have gathered together to further their research. But the world outside is changing: Europe is on the brink of self-destruction and, far away on the Vega, one of their prophets, Lorca, is facing execution. In a ceremonial mark of respect, the likes of Andre Breton, Antonin Artaud and Salvador Dali come together to attempt a re-enactment of his life and inevitable death. But the raging political climate burning the landscape outside is nothing compared to the rifts between the Surrealists themselves. At times a hysterical comedy and at others a heartbreaking tragedy, Dominic J Allens Lorca is Dead welcomes its audience in as friends and colleagues of the Paris Movement. Join their conference and assist their research. An entirely fluid world in which the very concept of actor and audience is left at the door. This is a group effort. This is a shared experience. The audience will have as much responsibility to the anarchic portrayal of Lorcas life and death as the actors do.

Notes: | inspired by Homer
Synopsis: | Critically acclaimed company Belt Up Theatre invite you to go on a journey alongside a lone homeward bound traveller as he seeks a safe haven in a post apocalyptic nightmare. A haunting adventure that tests the boundaries of human persistence. A new play by Dominic J Allen under the influence of Homers epic poem, this is a claustrophobically intimate production that is certainly not for the faint of heart. A legend of monstrous proportion explodes: fast, furious and inches away from the audiences eyes. Performed by an energetic cast of four with dramatis personae of hundreds, this is storytelling in swift, breathtaking and exhausting form.
