Notes:

Synopsis:

Mack the Hacker and Skulldust (aka Vic and Jerry) are the heavy metal band Secular! They eat bile and blood and chicken heads, and go rank and lose themselves fully. Mad's audition rocked, but she's a chick, and there's no chicks in metal. But they can't play in the local band comp without someone on bass. So they take her on. They blitz the band comp. But Vic's a weak singer lost in drum roll heaven, Jerry's power chords turn into tantrums, and Mad won't play the Babe or pretend to be a Hag from hell. And they take themselves so seriously! If they don't find a groove, become a unit, they won't win the big play-off. Written in pumped garage band vernacular, and structured like a pop song, 4 Speed Blenders is a play for four actor-musicians. The chorus roles (school kids, crowd, managers, journos and fans) were originally doubled, but can be played by other actors.

Synopsis:

Aurora, a young migrant from the Philippines, fell in love with Luke, another cash-in-hand cleaner. She moved in with him, and his mother, Joan. But one morning, Luke was gone, and Joan badgered her into a trip to the south coast. Rented a caravan. Left Aurora stranded and confused. This radio poem for three voices settles the scholarly debate about the conclusion of The Wifes Lament, the Old English poem from which this work is freely adapted: refusing to stoically endure her fate, Aurora takes what power she has into her own hands, and calls a curse down upon Lukes head

As he ascends slowly to the surface, in his fraying mind he wrestles with a Chinese Sea Dragon and reconsiders the myths that fuelled a failed push to rid the pearling grounds of "Asiatic" divers. It is 1913 and the White Australia Policy is tightening its grip. A time-crossing radio play that weaves myth and poetic realism together.

Synopsis:

Theodora's hung around nuns, been transported by Bach, wept at the beauty of the Sufis, and underlined everything in The Tibetan Book of the Dead. She also loves Celeste: their life together is abundant, bliss ridden, meant-to-be, made in Heaven. . . or is it? How can she find a home for her spiritual instincts whan religions condemn the very love of her life? Pushing past the pontiffs of dogma, Theodora sets out to reconcile her two sources of joy. While entrusted with the body of a fractal-loving priest, she sings with evolved fish who live in fruitcakes: stops Mother Church passing pethidine to a man who is pregnant with possibility: takes the helm of Magellan's ship and circumnavigates the ever-expanding universe; and dives off the edge of chaos to discover the beginnings of a millennial pendulum swing towards conscience and radical compassion. It's Monty Python and The Science Show meets existential angst! A genre-crossing adventure through a chaotically absurd landscape.
